Welcome to the pie lab, where I’ve donned my goggles and lab apron, autoclaved my measuring cups and rolling pin, and lit my bunsen burner in preparation for a great pie experiment: 52 weeks of pie alchemy. Please wear close-toed shoes and loose-fitting pants.
Each week I’ll be baking a unique pie. Some will be based on random recipes, some will be inventions from the mad pie cravings of yours truly. All the resulting pies–successes and miserable failures–will be posted here. By the end of the year I will hopefully have a wonderful pie repertoire and a fairly good notion of how NOT to create pie.
